PTSO Meeting March 17, 2015

    1. About 20 adults in attendance

    2. Update from Marta on Focus School Designation and Strategic Planning Process- Also, Marta introduced Sheree Jackson who is a new district hire. She is the Director of Title.

    3. Multicultural Festival update by Eve T.- May 16th 10-2 Planning meetings upcoming on March 22, April 12 & 26, May 3rd. From 2-3:30 at Caribou Coffee on 66th St./Cedar Ave.

    4. Secretary Report- Carly Kidd- adaptive swing has been ordered and should be installed in a week or 2, playground designs and quotes are with the district for their review, Will we participate in the parent/adult child safety night? Being put on by STEM- April 16th- Would cost us about $100- Discussion- motion made, seconded and passed

    5. Treasurer report- James VerSteeg-Balance $22,000 ($14,000 for playground), Read A Thon Grossed $4400 Net $3400, Book Fair made $3200 in books/literacy tools

    6. Fundraising- Betsy Lindow- Happy Hour- March 22- American Legion

    7. Volunteer Coordinator- Becca Patenaude- no report

    8. Amity update- Phyllis Kern- she has 8 host families for next year- enough for 4 Amities
