PTSO Meeting 2/18/2014

1. Sra. Luebbe- April PTSO meeting, RDLS/STEM 5th grade choir will be performing

2. Fund Raiser report-

Read a thon is currently going on- turned in by Feb. 27th

March FFN, March 21st- Kids dance, inflatables, minute to win it games- need 8-10 volunteers

April FFN- April 26th- carnival

Ordered books are on their way- shipping and handling were an additional $500 (motioned, seconded and passed)

Consignment sale- Marguerita- May 24-26- Christ of the King (8600 Fremont, Bloomington)- potentially 30% of sales

Andale- Feb. 24-26 and March 3-5, from 2-6pm, with flyer 20% of sales

3. Multicultural Festival- May 17th 10am-2pm- Need a volunteer coordinator for this event

African Step group will be performing

Looking at Aztec dance group, Chinese dragon dance group and Lizzett’s dance group

Next meeting is Feb. 22nd 9-10 at Caribou (66th and Cedar)

4. Treasurer’s report

-Book Fair- final numbers aren’t in yet

- Taking nominations for Treasurer for next year

5. Amity report- down to 2 current Amities- will start accepting applications and doing interviews soon

6. Native Spanish Speaking Teachers: We are losing teachers because they can’t pass the MN state teaching tests in English: What can we do to help? We can lobby the MN Dept. of Education to add an exception to the law for immersion programs.
