5. Amity Scholar Update – Clara

a. Looking for open dates for activities with families

b. One family took her to a trip to St. Paul to visit the capitol, the Cathedral, and Café Latte.

c. Please give it a thought to have her spend some time with your family. It doesn’t have to be fancy – just a snippet of life as an American family.

6. Transition Committee Report – Lisa Hintermeister

a. Small group has been meeting to discuss the commitment from RDLS and RMS on the transition of students from our school to the middle school and perhaps onto the high school.

b. The Group, including Brian Zambreno (RMS Principal), visited Anwatin Middle School in MPLS to study their program which includes Dual Language Immersion.

c. Currently studying best practices and new ideas as to where program can extend.

d. The Group would also collect input from the current 4th grade class as to what they would like to see in the program. There was also discussion on bringing in students from other programs so they can talk with our students about how they like their program.

7. Fundraising Committee Formation – Steve Schneeberger

a. Looking to have a group head up a committee to funnel the hundreds of ideas and thoughts around fundraising

8. Volunteer Groups

a. Sheet will go out in Thursday folders for volunteer needs of the school (bus, recess, lunch, classroom) and parent committees (Fundraising, Community Outreach, Multi Cultural Fair/Festive Events).
