If a child in your family attends RDLS, you are a member of the PTSO! The more parents that get involved in the PTSO, the more we can do for the school and for our children.

The number one reason to get involved in the PTSO is to benefit your child and, in doing so, you also help the school! But there are many more advantages:

  • Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school!

  • Discover Great Resources. The PTSO offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.

  • Tap into a Network. PTSO functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You an share ideas, concerns, and experiences.

  • Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PTSO, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community.

  • Speak Up. PTSO can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

  • Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. The PTSO plays an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events.

  • Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTSO member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.

There are many ways to get involved, depending on your comfort level. Ways to volunteer include but are not limited to: counting money, compiling coffee orders, selling spirit wear, data entry, stuffing folders, walking in a parade, etc. Please attend one of our meetings and see if there is a way for you to volunteer!
