Meeting Minutes October 10, 2017
Post date: Oct 10, 2017 6:07:24 PM
Thank you so much to all the parents who attended our first Coffee With the Principal Meeting!
Sra. Marta shared information about new lunch account policy. The School Board has passed a district-wide policy affecting student with a negative account balance of over $25. Those students will be able to have fruits and vegetables at lunch, but will be served a cheese sandwich as an entree rather than the regularly scheduled meal. The district is working on setting up an account to allow interested people to donate money to offset lunch debts of RDLS students.
School Improvement plan was presented.
Parent volunteers can be a big help in the classroom when students are working in small groups for reading or math. Spanish speakers are needed in lower grades and Spanish or English speakers in upper grades. Ask you child's teacher how you can help!
Cherrydale orders are due today. If you miss today's deadline, get them in as soon as you can.
There is a Sign-Up Genius to sign up to provide food for teachers during conferences: https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/70a0b4fa9a9229-conference/11905978
If you'd prefer to donate money to help cater lunch on Wednesday, please place it in a labeled envelope in the locked PTSO box in the front office.
First Family Fun Night has been changed to November 10th. More info to come.
We need a new Read-A-Thon Coordinator. For more info, please contact Megan Ritchie at email@example.com
We are currently collecting entries for the school directory. Here is the info: It's time to collect information for this year's student directory! If you would like your info included, please enter the information you're willing to share with other RDLS families through the link below. Paper forms will also be available at conferences. Directories are provided to every family whether you choose to have your information included or not, but we really hope you participate! The directory is a great tool for connecting with other RDLS families. You can find out which of your child's classmates live in your area. When your child wants to play with a classmate or invite them to a birthday party, you have a way to contact that child's family. NOTE: If you have more than 3 children at the school, please message me your additional children's info or enter it on the printed form at conferences and I will see that they are added. So sorry for that inconvenience!
