Multicultural Fair – Kate Clarity

·         Planning Meeting Friday 8AM 4/27/2012

·         150+ volunteers are needed to make this happen

·         Volunteers for games are needed as well as for food, cultural stations and silent auction

·         Sign up genius/PTSO website and paper flyers

·         Baskets for raffle or silent auction dead line is May 9th

·         Flyer for class specific donations went home on April 19th

·         Food vendor Aida/Chevy’s/Fat Lorenzo’s/Hotdogs and Chips /Popcorn/Cotton Candy

·         Classroom Baskets – weighing Silent Auction vs. Raffle

Barnes and Noble Fundraiser – Marta

·         April 26 thru May 2nd online or in person orders

·         15% of sales will go to our school

·         Discount code in flyer and on school website

Popcorn Popper Update – Mike DeRoma

·         Has been acquired from Colonel Concessions

·         110 amp and ready to go with service at school

·         Future supplies can be ordered from Colonel Concessions

Bike to School Day May 9th

·         Bike racks are coming

·         Rentable bike rack are available – Kate Clarity checking into it

Fall Fun Fest – Betsey Lindow

·         Walk-a-thon/Family Fun Run/5K – route through Elliot to Veterans and end at school

·         Looking for ideas in order to engage families

·         Family fun events after – face painting, crafts

·         Permits are needed

·         Next meeting on Thursday 4/26/2012 at 4:15pm in Sra Marta’s office

Movie Night Licensing – Steve

·         Through extensive research, RDLS  will need to purchase a license in order show movies in compliance with the law

·         License runs $375 for year coverage

·         We are checking with District to see if there is an umbrella policy to cover the District

·         Also checking on putting a monthly event on the District Calendar for movie night/family fun night

Co President Nomination – tabled until next meeting


Update on 5th Grade “Capstone” trip – Melissa and Andrea Solie

·         Trip scheduled for 2013

·         Canvassing tour companies to see what they will provide/countries/cost/etc – info gathering phase

·         Survey going out to 4th grade families to gage interest

·         Looking into fundraising opportunities in community - dome concessions, etc.

·         School and District is not sponsoring nor are they responsible for the trip

Fourth of July Parade

·         Application just arrive $350 to rent float

·         Give-aways/candy/water/low cost alternative

·         Will need vehicle to tow

·         Will need someone to take over from Colleen-contact

·         Motion carried

End of the Year Picnic

·         Joy to contact previous year’s organizers

·         Tabled for next month
